Artist Linda Thern-Smith has been an active member of the metropolitan Washington, D.C. art community for over twenty years as an exhibiting artist, writer, independent curator, and board member for several arts organizations. Currently she is Art Director for "Kalliope,"a journal of women's art and writing and is affiliated with Gallery 10 in Washington, D.C. Her work has been exhibited around the U.S. as well as abroad with future venues being in Florence, Italy (via Gallery 10), and at McLean (VA) Project for the Arts in 1999. Her work is in the permanent collections of the Hechinger Collection (affiliated with the National Building Museum) and The National Museum of Women in the Arts as well as several other regional U.S. museums. Her writing has been featured in "The Washington Review of the Arts," and "The New Art Examiner," among others. She is a past board member of the Washington Project for the Arts.....
