LANGSTON HUGHES TRIBUTE ISSUE

Tammy Tillotson

SCARE CROW

tar and feathers
hanging by toes

Jim sings
of broken law

wing ajar
mocking a killdeer

he warns:
forego the row

where sunflowers grow
Caught!

under the tow
of freedom’s plow line.
