Ineffable...... Inevitable .......Infinitude
Intake........ Interface........ Inhabit........ In Process

These images represent a new series, begun in 1988, which started as a simple formal exercise: on a painted abstract ground introduce three elements - hands, a depiction of spatial depth and black circles or spheres. As I was working on these pieces I was never quite sure where they were taking me, but the land seem to be located somewhere between whimsy and surrealism. Hoping to avoid the state of pretentiousness, I would hazard to say that this work ended up facing some of my recurrent themes: transcendence, Desire and handicraft.
